The Magnat Quantum Edelstein is a compact loudspeaker that impresses with its build quality and sound performance, which are difficult to imagine at first glance. The structure is made of MDF with solid aluminum panels on the front and bottom, while a transparent tempered glass plate further reinforces the base, adding both solidity and a modern elegance. The high-gloss white lacquer finish on the side and rear panels is flawless, while the front panel can be protected by a magnetic grille covered in acoustic fabric, easily removable to reveal a brushed aluminum design with beveled and polished edges.

Once powered on, this small German gem reveals its full potential. The silk dome tweeter, mounted on a wide flange, offers an extremely extended frequency response. The 4.3-inch mid/bass driver, with its white composite cone and half-roll surround, delivers precise and controlled sound, despite the compact cabinet size. The bass range is modest but well-articulated, and the overall tonal balance makes for a full and engaging listening experience.

The soundstage is wide and well-defined, with a surprisingly natural and present vocal reproduction. Every detail is rendered clearly, but never becomes fatiguing. The coherence between the two drivers is remarkable, and the tweeter never dominates the scene. Thanks to carefully selected components—such as neodymium magnets, high-quality passive crossover parts, and precise impedance control—the speaker stands out for its rare musicality in this category.
