Two-way stand-mount loudspeaker with bass-reflex loading from the Stage 2 series, of which it is the most compact bookshelf model. The design is intended for both Hi-Fi listening and use in home theater systems, with a compact cabinet and a construction suitable for installation in rooms of different sizes.

The low- and mid-frequency section uses a 114 mm woofer with a layered polycellulose cone, based on materials and construction principles derived from the technology employed by JBL in its professional monitors. The driver is designed to provide an extended response for a speaker of its size, with articulate bass reproduction and a detailed midrange.

High frequencies are reproduced by a 25 mm compression tweeter with an anodized aluminum diaphragm, coupled to the Next Generation JBL HDI waveguide. This solution controls the dispersion of the tweeter and contributes to maintaining consistent sound distribution, reducing the influence of room acoustics and providing clear reproduction beyond the main listening position.

The crossover network is designed to optimize integration between the two drivers and uses selected components. The rear panel features dual binding posts that allow bi-wiring or bi-amping connections.

The speaker is fitted with a matching magnetic front grille and can be installed on stands, with the option of pairing it with the dedicated JBL FS stand.
