Harbeth Super HL5 represents the sixth generation of the iconic Monitor loudspeaker that has defined the brand's heritage since 1977. The design retains the classic BBC-inspired two-cubic-foot proportions, reinterpreted with a slightly larger cabinet volume to deliver an even more balanced and refined sound. At the heart of the system is Harbeth's proprietary 200 mm RADIAL cone bass/midrange driver, designed and manufactured in-house to produce a rich, warm and natural sound, with exceptional midrange transparency and accuracy.

High frequencies are reproduced by a 20 mm main tweeter complemented by a dedicated super tweeter, both integrated through a sophisticated crossover network. This configuration extends the high-frequency response while ensuring smooth, uniform dispersion, providing an open presentation and remarkable detail throughout the upper end of the audible spectrum.

The cabinet, with an external volume of approximately 60 litres, is built according to Harbeth's traditional thin-wall construction philosophy, a design approach that helps preserve the natural character of the sound. Both the front and rear panels are secured with twelve brass screws, reflecting the construction techniques traditionally employed in the company's professional monitor loudspeakers.

The crossover network incorporates twenty-seven components mounted on a high-quality fiberglass printed circuit board, ensuring precise control of each driver. The rear panel features a pair of gold-plated binding posts designed for bi-wiring, with the bass/midrange section connected to the lower terminals, while the tweeter and super tweeter are connected separately through their dedicated crossover circuits.

When paired with high-quality speaker stands, the Harbeth Super HL5 delivers outstanding performance, combining exceptional transparency, a wide and three-dimensional soundstage, and an impressive ability to recreate musical performances with a level of realism that fully immerses the listener in the recording.
