The Lenco L 78 is a semi-automatic turntable of Swiss manufacture, produced between 1974 and 1976, appreciated by collectors for its versatility and solid construction. Designed for those seeking a vintage turntable capable of playing records from any era, it offers four rotation speeds – 16, 33 ⅓, 45, and 78 RPM – with continuous speed adjustment from 16 to 78 RPM, making it ideal for playing rare or unusual records with maximum fidelity.
The drive is belt-driven, powered by a 4-pole synchronous motor, ensuring stable and smooth rotation, supported by a rumble of 60 dB and a minimal speed variation of just 0.06% WRMS. The 312 mm diameter, 4 kg die-cast aluminum platter provides optimal inertia, delivering uniform rotation without wobble, which is essential for faithful playback, especially of 78 RPM records.
The straight tubular tonearm, with an effective length of 314 mm, is statically balanced and features a directly readable tracking force adjustment from 0.5 to 4 grams. It is equipped with an adjustable anti-skating system and viscous damping tonearm control, allowing precise cartridge installation while reducing wear on the record grooves. The semi-automatic operation, complemented by an end-of-play switch, simplifies daily use without sacrificing manual control, making the Lenco L 78 a practical and reliable solution for vinyl enthusiasts.
