KUZMA STABI REFERENCE 2

The Stabi Reference 2 is born as the natural evolution of the historic Stabi Reference, first introduced in 1992 and over time becoming an absolute benchmark in the world of high-end turntables. Building on the legacy of the original model, the Reference 2 maintains its fundamental design principles, refining them with even more sophisticated technical solutions and further enhanced mechanics. The goal remains the same: to provide an absolutely stable and silent rotation, capable of extracting every subtle musical nuance from vinyl with precision and naturalness.

The structure of the Reference 2 is based on two distinct plinths, crafted with the typical aluminum and acrylic sandwich construction, rigidly held together by preloaded non-magnetic stainless steel screws. This combination merges the rigidity of metal with the damping properties of acrylic, ensuring excellent mechanical neutrality. The upper plinth, supporting the platter and tonearm, is suspended via large springs immersed in silicone oil, perfectly isolating the system from external vibrations and resonances while operating at an extremely low resonance frequency. The lower plinth, in turn, rests on three conical aluminum and stainless steel spikes, providing a stable and perfectly balanced foundation.

The platter is driven by two motors arranged in a diamond configuration, connected to the sub-platter via a precision belt. The inverted bearing, equipped with a ruby ball and dedicated oil bath, ensures smooth and silent rotation, minimizing friction and mechanical stress. As in the previous model, the Reference 2 platter also uses a layered aluminum and acrylic construction, creating a very rigid support while simultaneously absorbing unwanted micro-vibrations.

Every detail of the turntable is designed to eliminate any source of resonance: the mat, the clamp, and the tonearm base all share the same multilayer construction technology, creating a fully coherent system. The external power supply has also been redesigned: the Reference 2 uses a dual supply with carefully selected components, providing a more stable voltage and even more precise speed control, ensuring perfectly clean energy delivery to the motors.

The Stabi Reference 2 embodies the ideal synthesis of craftsmanship and precision engineering. Every element, from the suspension to the bearing, from material selection to finishing, is designed to deliver reference-level performance and a profoundly musical listening experience, where the mechanics disappear, leaving only the purity of sound.
