Denon developed an original motor control system for this model based on magnetic recording of speed and phase. One thousand pulses are recorded with extreme precision, providing a high detection frequency that effectively reduces servo phase lag and significantly minimizes wow and flutter.

Overall performance is further enhanced by the adoption of an AC motor, controlled via pulse-width modulation, which provides a cleaner drive current, increases efficiency, and reduces energy consumption.
