The LUMIN U2X represents the pinnacle of the brand’s digital streaming technology, a next-generation transport designed to deliver absolute performance in audio reproduction. Built with the same care and craftsmanship as the X1 model, it features a robust chassis machined from a single block of aluminum using CNC technology, a structure that ensures maximum rigidity, vibration isolation, and optimal protection from external interference. The external power supply, also constructed using the same monoblock technique, houses dual toroidal transformers and a low-noise linear regulator, with separate digital and analog circuits to minimize any interference.

Designed exclusively as a transport, the LUMIN U2X incorporates innovative technical solutions, including an isolated circuit architecture dedicated to the USB digital output, essential for a direct and clean connection to state-of-the-art DACs. Completing this signal-purity-focused design is a completely redesigned clocking system, the most advanced ever developed by LUMIN, featuring 10M clock inputs and outputs that allow multiple digital devices to be synchronized to a single reference source. This ensures each unit operates in perfect temporal coherence, reducing jitter and enhancing the precision of musical reproduction.

The new processor, the most powerful ever used in a LUMIN model, provides flawless handling of digital streams and greater flexibility in resampling, with native support up to DSD512 and PCM 768 kHz and up/down sampling capabilities up to DSD256. Introduced in 2022, this architecture provides a solid foundation for future developments and ensures high performance even with the most demanding files. Three USB ports, including one dedicated exclusively to the isolated audio output, allow simultaneous connection of storage devices and accessories without compromising signal quality.

As is traditional with LUMIN, the network connectivity is among the most advanced available: the optical port completely isolates the system from network digital noise, while the dual network interface with integrated switch provides maximum configuration flexibility. Volume control is handled through Leedh Processing, a proprietary lossless digital volume algorithm that preserves signal resolution even at lower listening levels.

The LUMIN U2X also integrates the latest streaming technologies, with extensive compatibility with major music services including Roon, TIDAL, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Qobuz Connect, Spotify, KKBox, QQMusic, and numerous FLAC lossless radio stations. The internal software, developed entirely in-house, is continuously updated to include new features and improvements, such as high-resolution TIDAL Max support, Plex Server, Qobuz Connect, and the JPlay app for iOS.
