The Aurender A1000 adapts to a wide range of use cases: it functions as a pure network player, a DAC with analog outputs, a USB DAC, a music server (with an optional 2.5” SSD), a preamplifier with built-in volume control, and a digital hub thanks to its many input and output options. It can receive signals from sources such as TVs (via HDMI ARC or Toslink), CD transports (via coaxial), and even from mobile devices via Bluetooth.

On the hardware side, it features a dual-mono AKM 4490REQ DAC powered by a low-noise linear power supply, alongside a 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A55 quad-core CPU with its own dedicated power supply. The solid and well-finished aluminum chassis houses a front panel with physical controls including power, input/output selection, navigation, and volume. However, most interaction typically happens via software, thanks to the excellent 6.9” full-color LCD display and integration with the Aurender Conductor app, available for both iOS and Android. This app also enables easy management of a local music library, provided an internal SSD is installed.

The A1000 is compatible with Roon (Roon Ready but not a Roon Server), Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, and Google Cast, offering a complete set of streaming options. When using the Conductor app, browsing and managing internal content is intuitive and seamless. For users with multiple Aurender devices at home, the app allows centralized control and shared library access across all units.
