IFI UNO

Compact USB DAC designed to improve the conversion of audio signals from computers, smartphones, consoles and other digital sources. It uses the ESS Sabre ES9219 converter and supports PCM signals up to 32-bit/384 kHz, DSD256 and MQA, allowing it to handle high-resolution audio content.

The device features three operating modes dedicated respectively to music, movies and gaming. Music Mode is intended for music playback, while Movie Mode focuses on dialogue reproduction and Game Mode is designed to make low-level sounds and ambient information more easily distinguishable. Selection is made via a button on the front panel, while the active mode is indicated by an illuminated logo.

The filters for the three modes operate in the analogue domain rather than directly processing the digital data. The Uno also incorporates a circuit for reducing timing jitter and an S-Balanced configuration, solutions designed to limit noise and distortion in the output stage.

The analogue section uses a custom OV-series operational amplifier, characterized by low noise, a specified distortion level of 0.0001% and wide bandwidth. The circuit also incorporates TDK C0G Class 1 ceramic capacitors, selected for their stability and low losses, together with low-noise Texas Instruments integrated circuits offering wide bandwidth, low distortion and low noise.

The digital source is connected via USB-C, which also supplies power to the device without requiring an external power supply. The Uno features a 3.5 mm headphone output on the front panel and a gold-plated stereo RCA output on the rear, allowing connection to both headphones and an amplified audio system.

The volume control is analogue and allows the level to be adjusted without altering the digital signal data. PowerMatch technology also allows the output level to be adapted to the characteristics of the connected headphones or system, facilitating use with different types of loads.

The reinforced polymer chassis keeps the dimensions and weight low, making the Uno suitable for use outside the home as well. Its compact construction allows it to be easily placed next to a computer or portable source, while the gold-plated connections are used to maintain a stable connection over time.
