ROSE RSA780E

The ROSE RSA780E is an external CD drive with a USB interface designed to read Audio Compact Discs and extract digital data for storage in a music library. It is designed to integrate with HiFi ROSE streamers and music servers, providing a dedicated solution for managing CD collections within digital music playback systems.

The mechanism is designed to achieve stable reading of the data stored on discs, with particular attention to reducing vibrations and resonances. The unit is housed in a high-mass chassis, weighs approximately 1 kg, and uses a special damped suspension system that helps keep the mechanism stable during disc rotation and data extraction operations.

The RSA780E allows Audio CDs to be played directly through compatible streamers or ripped to create a digital music library. Storage can be carried out in supported lossless formats, including FLAC, compressed FLAC and WAV, allowing audio data to be preserved without loss of information compared with the recording contained on the Compact Disc.

The unit is designed to integrate with the ROSE OS operating system and is compatible with HiFi ROSE models RS130, RS150B, RS250A, RS201E and RS520. The USB connection also allows the RSA780E to be used as an external CD drive with Windows PCs and Apple Macs, extending its use beyond the ROSE ecosystem.

One of the key features of the design is the USB Isolation Technology developed by HiFi ROSE, which provides electrical isolation of the USB data line. The system is designed to limit interference from the 5 V power supply and electrical noise associated with the operation of the mechanism, helping to maintain stable data transfer between the drive and the connected device.

The RSA780E features two operating modes. Isolation Mode is intended for CD playback through HiFi ROSE streamers and prioritizes electrical isolation between the mechanism and the player. Normal Mode, on the other hand, allows CDs to be ripped and the unit to be used as a USB CD drive with a computer.

The unit is supplied with the HiFi ROSE RSA705 USB 2.0 A-B cable, featuring high-purity 7N OCC copper conductors and designed to connect the RSA780E to the source device. The cable is supplied with the unit, allowing USB connection without the need for additional components.

The HiFi ROSE RSA780E is therefore a dedicated CD mechanism designed for managing physical CD collections within digital playback systems, combining Compact Disc playback, data ripping, USB connectivity and integration with the ROSE OS software environment.
