Cyrus CD players stand out for their extremely low background noise compared to other players, thanks to Servo-Evolution technology. The principle is simple: in traditional players, the laser mechanism reading the disc moves slightly side to side to correct misreads, generating what is called “servo noise” and raising the noise floor, which limits sound quality. The CDi’s goal is to extract the disc data correctly on the first attempt, delivering purer, more detailed sound through careful design and calibration of both hardware and software.

The CDi features the same 32-bit DAC used in the DAC XP Signature, allowing even greater detail retrieval and sonic resolution. It offers two analog outputs and optical and coaxial digital outputs, making it easy to integrate into a variety of audio setups. The loading mechanism is a modern slot-load design, quiet and low-contact, providing many advantages over traditional tray mechanisms and allowing a cleaner, more aesthetically pleasing front panel.

The CDi’s circuit is divided into two discrete sections, enabling an upgrade with the separate PSX R2 power supply, which fully isolates the DAC section, improving timing and eliminating intermodulation that could affect delicate analog signals. While not required for outstanding performance, this upgrade provides added value for discerning audiophiles, ensuring an even more refined and detailed listening experience.
