CD player developed as part of the Maestro series, one of the product lines that characterized Audio Analogue’s production in the early 2000s. The model features a 24-bit digital-to-analog conversion section with a sampling rate of up to 192 kHz and incorporates a low-jitter sample-rate converter, designed to minimize timing errors associated with signal conversion. The specified frequency response extends from 2 Hz to 22 kHz, covering the full audio bandwidth of the CD format.

The circuit design separates the different functions and the two channels, with particular attention given to the analog output stage, which uses discrete components and is optimized to preserve signal integrity after conversion. The component selection includes low-tolerance metal-film resistors meeting MIL specifications, non-polarized polyester or polypropylene capacitors, and electrolytic capacitors selected for their high capacitance, speed, and low losses.

The power supply employs two transformers, one of which is toroidal, combined with eight independent regulation sections. This configuration allows the power supply for the different circuit sections to be separated, helping to limit interference between the stages dedicated to digital signal processing, conversion, and analog output.

The chassis follows the aesthetic design of the Maestro Settanta integrated amplifier and is constructed from thick anodized aluminum, with panels machined using CNC equipment and assembled with stainless-steel screws. The front panel features a high-contrast, dot-matrix PLED display with a dark background, while the controls are positioned to the right of the disc tray in a hexagonal arrangement that characterizes the front-panel design.

The Maestro CD 192/24 features a coaxial digital output and an RS-232 interface, which can be used to control the player through external systems and home automation installations. Functions can be operated from the front panel, via the supplied remote control, or through the control interface using a dedicated microcontroller-based management system.

The construction, characterized by a weight of approximately 14 kg and a substantial aluminum chassis, contributes to the mechanical stability of the player and provides protection for the internal circuitry. The Maestro CD 192/24 belongs to the generation of Audio Analogue products that helped define the Maestro series, which the manufacturer traces back to products introduced from 2003 onwards.
