The RB880 tonearm is the result of nearly forty years of expertise in tonearm design, crafted using the latest 3D CAD and CAM technology. It features a completely redesigned vertical bearing housing made from aluminum, a new stainless steel sleeve, and a vertical bearing shaft, all contributing to enhanced rigidity and mounting stability. The tonearm tube has been meticulously reengineered with intelligent mass redistribution to improve structural stiffness and drastically reduce potential resonance points, ensuring more precise and detailed vinyl playback.

The exceptional stability achieved is paired with virtually frictionless movement, thanks to hand-assembled and precisely selected bearings, reflecting Rega’s core design philosophy. This combination allows the RB880 to extract an unprecedented level of audio information from the record. Its fluid movement on both horizontal and vertical axes, along with the complete absence of measurable play in the bearings, is a hallmark of Rega’s tonearm engineering.

To further optimize performance, the RB880 comes equipped with a new low-capacitance phono cable, custom-made by Rega and terminated with high-quality connectors. These are specifically designed to minimize joints and enhance connection quality, using a twist-and-clamp locking mechanism that secures the plug to the terminal. Every detail of the RB880—from its award-winning low-mass aluminum tube to the precision of its construction—is engineered to maximize signal transparency and deliver an engaging, faithful listening experience.
