The Bliant tonearm stands out for its highly innovative design, abandoning the traditional gimbal and unipivot architecture. Instead, it employs a sophisticated magnetic levitation system for horizontal movement, which decouples the pivot and suspends the entire arm in a remarkably smooth and stable manner. This approach drastically reduces friction while delivering exceptional stability during playback.

Its remarkably long arm tube—over 13 inches—minimizes tracking error to extremely low levels, ensuring outstanding tracking precision even in the innermost grooves of the record, which are often the most challenging. The vertical movement relies on a support axis with a multipivot coupling, contributing further to the overall precision with smooth and controlled motion throughout playback.

The entire tonearm is engineered to minimize resonance, with a decoupled structure at multiple points, particularly around the pivot, which has been designed to offer virtually zero friction along with long-term durability and reliability. Thanks to its extended effective length, tracking error is so minimal that an antiskating mechanism becomes unnecessary—such systems are often complex to calibrate and may introduce unwanted variables in the cartridge’s performance. This design choice is also in line with modern cartridge technologies, which typically feature stylus profiles with a large contact area and thus lower groove pressure and friction.

The materials used in the system are lightweight and self-lubricating, ensuring low thermal sensitivity, minimal mechanical wear, and enhanced long-term stability. Altogether, these technical solutions make the Bliant tonearm not only highly reliable and precise, but also easy to set up and user-friendly.
