GLANZ MH-9BT

The Glanz MH-9Bt tonearm represents the evolution of the Japanese brand Glanz’s high-mass series and is specifically designed to achieve the best possible performance with low-compliance cartridges, particularly those with higher weight. It maintains a design philosophy focused on precision and stability, while introducing a more advanced configuration compared to the standard version, featuring a higher overall mass and optimized handling of heavy loads. In this configuration, tracking behavior is extremely stable, ensuring secure performance even with very heavy cartridges and allowing their full sonic potential to be fully expressed.

Constructed from materials such as stainless steel and brass, the MH-9Bt ensures effective resonance control and a clean, highly precise sound reproduction, while the static balance system allows accurate cartridge adjustment and optimal alignment. Its 9-inch effective length makes it compatible with most turntables, and the adjustable arm height enables fine setup tuning. In some versions, a carbon fiber arm tube and low-resistance wiring are also used, further reducing vibrations and improving signal transparency.

From a functional perspective, the MH-9Bt is designed to operate directly with high-mass configurations without the need for additional accessories: it supports a combined cartridge and headshell weight ranging approximately from 16 to 43 grams, significantly higher than the base version. It is also supplied with a headshell included, making installation immediate and ready to use.

The main difference compared to the Glanz MH-9Bs lies precisely in this approach: the “Bs” version is more flexible but often requires an additional counterweight when using very heavy cartridges, with a more limited standard range (approximately 11–28 g), whereas the MH-9Bt is already configured for high-mass setups, featuring dedicated counterweighting and balancing systems, making it more suitable for extreme configurations and high-end, heavy cartridges.

In summary, the MH-9Bt retains the neutral, dynamic, and uncolored sonic philosophy typical of the Glanz series, but stands out for its greater specialization toward high-mass systems, offering superior control, increased operational stability, and more direct handling of demanding cartridge setups.
