The Nordost QVIBE (QV2) is an active power-line harmonizer designed to act directly on the AC current supplied to the components of an audio or video system. It is compatible with 110 V and 240 V power supplies and can be used either on its own or as part of a more comprehensive QRT system.

The device acts on the AC line by introducing a calculated range of higher harmonics, synchronized with the original 50 or 60 Hz mains waveform. According to the operating principle stated by the manufacturer, this intervention is intended to reduce background noise on the power line, contributing to greater depth and dimensionality in reproduction.

The QV2 is designed for use in audio and video systems and, according to the product information, its effect on the power line can result in greater definition of the soundstage, a more pronounced perception of depth, and a more realistic rendering of musical performances and images.

The circuit is housed in a cylindrical carbon-fiber body with a mechanically tuned structure. Connection to the mains is made via a gold-plated Schuko plug, allowing the device to be inserted directly into an unused socket on a power distributor or into a wall outlet, without requiring any additional connections.

The QV2 can be used independently or integrated into a QRT system together with other Nordost devices, such as the QBASE, QX2, QX4 and QK1, to provide a coordinated approach to power distribution and power-line treatment.
