The Nordost QB4 power strip is designed to ensure clean and coherent power distribution within an audio system, significantly enhancing overall performance. By the time AC power reaches a home audio setup, it has already been contaminated by countless sources of interference along its journey. The QB4 addresses this critical stage by providing a more stable and reliable power foundation. Its operation is based on a unique architecture: a star-ground topology with a central grounding point that guides ground leakage currents in a controlled manner, without relying on line filters or active circuitry. Each outlet—except one—has a slightly increased impedance of 0.5 ohms, a design that forces ground current to flow toward a single clean ground point, preventing interference between connected components. This configuration reduces background noise, preserves high-frequency detail, expands soundstage depth, and enhances the musical reproduction with greater clarity and harmonic richness.

Its solid and refined build features a precision-machined extruded aluminum body and connectors engineered for stable and long-lasting performance. Internal circuits are laid out with thick traces capable of handling high currents and are internally wired using Nordost’s monofilament conductors. A dedicated fuse in each unit offers effective protection against overcurrent.

This 4-outlet Schuko version (QB4) uses an IEC C-14 (15/10 A) input and is ideal for optimally powering key components such as preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers.
