Transformer designed for the passive filtering of AC mains power, with a single input and a single output, as indicated by the SS designation, which identifies the “Single Socket” configuration. The device is designed to be connected directly to a single piece of equipment, with a maximum power consumption of 100 W, and is not intended for powering power amplifiers.

It is particularly suitable for use with digital sources such as CD players, DACs and streamers, but can also be used with analogue equipment, including preamplifiers and phono stages. The filtering is applied exclusively to the mains supply and does not directly affect the audio signal. The single-output configuration also allows one SS-100 to be used for each individual component, preventing multiple devices from sharing the same power path and thereby limiting possible mutual interference. For this reason, connecting a multiple socket outlet to the single output is not recommended.

The BCD SS-100 can also be used in analogue systems with turntables, where power conditioning can contribute to the proper operation of the associated electronics. Its simple, dedicated architecture allows it to be connected directly between the mains outlet and the individual component being powered, keeping its power supply separate from the other components in the system.
