Stax, the Japanese company founded in 1938 and a pioneer in the development of electrostatic headphone technology, has designed the SRS-X1000 system to bring its construction philosophy to a more accessible segment, while maintaining the fundamental characteristics that distinguish the brand’s earspeakers, such as transparency, fast response and natural sound reproduction.

The SR-X1 earspeakers use an electrostatic technology based on an extremely thin electrically charged diaphragm positioned between two perforated stators. This operating principle allows the transducer to move with exceptional speed and precision, providing particularly fast transient response, extremely low harmonic distortion and a reproduction characterized by high transparency and a three-dimensional soundstage.

The acoustic structure of the SR-X1 is designed to achieve a linear and neutral frequency response, a typical characteristic of Stax electrostatic systems. The sound element is mounted directly inside the frame, minimizing the number of joints between components in order to improve accuracy and coherence in reproduction. The rear structure features a slotted opening with a gradually curved shape, designed to promote natural sound wave propagation and contribute to distortion reduction.

The SR-X1 frame uses high-rigidity metal components designed to eliminate unwanted vibrations and increase the mechanical stability of the entire system. The headband structure has been further optimized to integrate the earspeaker and support into a single lightweight and robust assembly, reducing listening fatigue during extended sessions. The genuine sheep leather ear pads provide a comfortable contact surface, while the internal memory foam padding improves fit and adaptability to the user’s head shape.

The SRM-270S driver amplifier has been developed specifically for the SRS-X1000 system and represents an evolution of the previous SRM-252S model. The updated design incorporates a 3 mm thick aluminum front panel and a larger extruded aluminum chassis, a solution that improves heat dissipation and contributes to the long-term stability of the electronics.

The amplification stage uses a latest-generation low-noise FET in the input section, while the output stage adopts a refined emitter follower circuit to improve driving capability and maintain a clean and precise signal. The use of Stax’s latest design solutions allows the compact SRM-270S to deliver performance fully consistent with the brand’s electrostatic technology.

Connectivity includes high-quality RCA analog inputs and PARALLEL OUT terminals, allowing easy integration of the system into existing audio configurations. This solution provides greater installation flexibility, making the system suitable for different listening environments.
