The HSD 006 marks the entry into EMT’s high-end cartridge range, bringing the technology and tradition of the legendary professional turntables directly into the home environment. This MC stereo cartridge features a 6-micron SuperFine Line (SFL) stylus mounted on an aluminum cantilever and Alnico alloy magnets, allowing it to extract every detail from vinyl grooves with exceptional musicality. The solid and compact anodized aluminum body houses the delicate interface circuits between the moving coils and the output pins, while the meticulously constructed coils, with a higher-than-average number of windings, provide a high output level for an MC, reaching 1.05 mV.

Founded in Berlin in 1938, EMT built its reputation producing turntables and cartridges for radio and television studios, evolving over the years to develop series such as the TSD 15 and JSD, which introduced innovations like Van Den Hul and SuperFine Line styli. The HSD 006 continues this tradition, offering a stereo cartridge suitable for domestic turntables, with a recommended load of 200–300 ohms and a tracking force of 2.4 grams, ideal for tonearms of appropriate mass typical of the Japanese school of the 1970s.

Its frequency response spans 20 to 25,000 Hz, with a compliance of 12 μm/mN, channel separation of 35 dB, and an impedance of 2x24 Ω, ensuring balanced, linear, and detailed playback.
