The AT33xMONO/I represents the latest evolution of the renowned AT33 series, resulting from the first major update in years, capable of bringing new warmth and fullness to your favorite music. Thanks to technological improvements and innovative materials, including the first use of die-cast zinc at the base of the cartridge to reduce unwanted resonance and enhance mid-to-low frequency expressiveness, this cartridge allows listeners to perceive every detail across the entire audio spectrum.

The AT33xMONO/I features a “True Mono” dual moving coil design that generates an electrical signal exclusively from horizontal movements, ignoring any vertical components picked up from the record groove. The result is exceptionally clear monaural sound with more substantial bass and reduced surface noise, making it ideal for playing mono records even on stereo systems.

To further enhance monaural performance, the cartridge is equipped with a 0.65 mil nude conical stylus, perfectly suited to accurately track the constant width and depth of mono grooves. The newly developed suspension mechanism uses piano wire for even more precise tracking, slightly lowering dynamic compliance and providing a fuller sound, particularly in the mid-to-low frequency range.

The cartridge’s composite body, made of die-cast zinc, aluminum, and high-rigidity polymer, reduces and disperses resonance throughout the structure, ensuring a balanced and natural sound reproduction without emphasizing any particular frequency range. PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) coils provide pure, linear signal transmission, while the neodymium magnet and permendur magnetic circuit, shaped for optimal monaural playback, generate a strong magnetic field that maximizes energy efficiency and allows highly responsive, high-resolution analog reproduction.

The rigid, dense duralumin pipe cantilever tapers toward the conical stylus tip to improve response and is linked to a solid suspension mechanism that slightly lowers dynamic compliance. The “True Mono” coils are positioned at the cantilever’s fulcrum to ensure faithful transmission of horizontal signals. The cartridge body includes threaded holes for easy mounting, particularly useful with integrated tonearms.

Each AT33xMONO/I is handcrafted and finished by Japanese artisans, combining high-quality materials and advanced engineering to deliver the classic analog sound of the AT33 series, rich in detail and natural mid-to-low frequency expressiveness, maintaining a perfect balance of clarity, dynamics, and fidelity.
