It uses a solid-core construction made from Long-Grain Copper (LGC), with a Counter-Spiral HyperLitz geometry in which the conductors of the different polarities are arranged in counter-rotating spirals. This configuration is designed to maintain a consistent relationship between the conductors and reduce unwanted interactions typically associated with stranded cables.

The construction comprises 13 solid-core LGC conductors, arranged as three 19 AWG elements and ten 21 AWG elements, for a total cross-sectional area of 3 × 2.63 mm² according to the specifications reported for the model. The outer covering consists of a flexible jacket with a braided finish in the characteristic black, grey and green colors.

Connection to the components is made through three-pole IEC connectors and a mains plug, with termination using AudioQuest's cold-weld system, designed to preserve conductor integrity at the connection points.

The NRG-2 is therefore a power cable intended for use with audio and video equipment, featuring a relatively straightforward construction based on solid-core LGC copper and Counter-Spiral HyperLitz geometry.
