At the heart of the ROMA117DC lies an advanced two-stage audio circuit powered by two carefully selected pairs of 6922 / ECC88 tubes. Both balanced and unbalanced inputs are managed through a dedicated tube stage, while the output section is driven by proprietary low-impedance output transformers, ensuring powerful, fluid signal transmission free from unwanted coloration. Thanks to its remarkably low output impedance, this preamplifier offers exceptional flexibility in pairing with a wide variety of interconnect cables and power amplifiers, integrating smoothly into diverse high-end audio systems.

Its frequency response is impressively linear, extending from 5 Hz to 40 kHz with only a –3 dB deviation, capturing every musical nuance with accuracy and depth. The power supply is fully electronically regulated—both for the anode and filament voltages—with a stability better than 0.1%, aided by a low-noise toroidal transformer. This design ensures a sound performance that is coherent, transparent, and emotionally engaging.

Every design choice is focused on maximizing quality: from metal film resistors and polypropylene capacitors to tubes individually tested for minimal noise and microphonics. Precision electronic selectors are placed close to the input connectors, minimizing signal paths and virtually eliminating crosstalk between channels. The ROMA117DC also features a high-quality headphone amplifier with a 6.3 mm jack output on the front panel, offering a refined personal listening experience.

The control interface includes a remote control for easy volume adjustment and source selection. Connectivity is comprehensive, with one balanced XLR input and four unbalanced RCA inputs, two unbalanced RCA outputs, one balanced XLR output, and a dedicated RCA REC OUT. All of this is enclosed in an elegant metal chassis, accented by a transparent red lacquered wood front panel, adding a touch of visual distinction to match the refinement of its sound.
