The result of Darren Myers’ engineering vision, the StellarGold is designed to outperform preamplifiers that cost considerably more. Inside are two fully discrete amplification stages, built with carefully selected components and a blend of JFET and BJT devices, capable of exceptionally fast response and wide bandwidth. This architecture, with no capacitors in the signal path and minimal global feedback, ensures a remarkably transparent and coherent sonic presentation, free from artificial coloration.

Every input signal—whether single-ended or balanced—is immediately converted to a balanced format to minimize distortion and preserve musical integrity from input to output. Input switching is handled by hand-selected gold-plated relays chosen for their sonic neutrality, while volume control is managed via a balanced electronic stepped attenuator, delivering precise and silent adjustments with no loss of fidelity. The generous power supply features an oversized high-current transformer and multiple stages of regulation, ensuring rock-solid stability, expansive dynamics, and distortion-free signal handling.

The fully balanced circuitry, with a frequency response stretching from the lowest limits of human hearing to well beyond the audible range, contributes to a musical presentation that is fluid, natural, and deeply engaging. Voices emerge with depth and presence, instruments are positioned with accuracy and realism, and the silence between notes gains emotional weight.
