MUSICAL FIDELITY NU-VISTA VINYL S

MM/MC phono stage with a fully balanced circuit design and discrete components, designed to handle moving-magnet and moving-coil cartridges with a wide range of input parameter adjustments. The audio section uses three Class A transistor gain stages, followed by a Class A Nuvistor section with eight 7586 tubes used as a balanced output buffer.

The phono section features two-stage passive RIAA equalization and allows selection of the standard RIAA curve as well as DECCA and COLUMBIA curves. Gain is adjustable from 40 to 69 dB, while input impedance and capacitance can be selected to match each input individually to the characteristics of the cartridge in use. Settings are stored and recalled for each input, allowing MM and MC sources to be configured independently.

The Nu-Vista Vinyl S features two RCA inputs and two XLR inputs, with RCA and XLR outputs equipped with dedicated stages that can be used simultaneously. Signal handling and input parameter switching also employ JFET transistors, while the power supply uses Super Silent transformers, EMI filters and separate stabilization circuits for the different functional sections. A two-level subsonic filter is also provided.

The front panel features a central multifunction OLED display showing the main operating settings and matching the design of the other components in the Nu-Vista range. The chassis uses a rigid structure with a reduced-thickness “S”-shaped frame; optimization of the circuit layout helps reduce the overall footprint compared with the Nu-Vista Vinyl 2, while maintaining the same construction approach as the rest of the range. The unit is supplied with a slim aluminium remote control.
