The PH-5 represents the latest evolution of Gold Note phono preamplifiers, designed to deliver the performance and quality that made the PH-10 and PH-1000 models renowned, but with a more accessible approach and all the distinctive innovations of the brand. It is engineered to fit any analog system, featuring an RCA input that supports both MM and MC cartridges, selectable equalization curves (RIAA, Decca London, and American Columbia), all also available in the “Enhanced” version, and adjustable gain and load settings that ensure maximum flexibility and versatility.

The PH-5 stands out for its intuitive and innovative full-color touchscreen interface, which allows users to access and modify all settings in real time without interrupting audio playback. Its internal structure is completely new: all electronics are integrated on a single board, unlike the PH-10 where analog and digital stages are separated, providing a more direct and interference-free signal path. The heart of the preamplifier remains fully analog, with discrete components optimized to minimize distance and preserve signal purity. Every adjustment made via the touchscreen directly affects the audio path through relays, delivering extremely high sound quality and capturing even the smallest details from vinyl records.

The display allows selection of the most appropriate equalization curve for each record, choosing between RIAA, Decca London, or American Columbia. The “Enhanced” versions, developed with proprietary technology inspired by Georg Neumann, extend the frequency response up to 50 kHz, enhancing dynamics and audio impact when required. For optimal performance, the PH-5 can be paired with the dedicated PSU, a high-inductance external power supply that allows the preamp to fully express its potential, reproducing vinyl with extraordinary realism, three-dimensionality, and precision.
