The Mitsubishi DA-A600 is a Japanese-made stereo power amplifier produced between the late 1970s and early 1980s, belonging to the historic Mitsubishi/Diatone hi-fi line, designed to deliver high performance and strong reliability for domestic audio use.
It is a solid-state power amplifier featuring a differential two-stage circuit architecture with a current mirror drive and a fully DC-coupled OCL complementary configuration, engineered to ensure linearity, stability, and low distortion even at high listening levels.
Rated output power is around 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with higher capability into 4 ohm loads, providing good loudspeaker control and a solid, well-managed dynamic response for its class.
Frequency response is wide, typically ranging from about 5 Hz to 70 kHz, while total harmonic distortion remains very low, reflecting a design focused on signal purity and natural tonal balance.
The signal-to-noise ratio is high for its era, contributing to a quiet and detailed reproduction, while the damping factor ensures solid low-frequency control and a tighter, more precise bass response.
Build quality is robust and typical of Japanese vintage engineering, featuring a strong metal chassis and a clean internal layout designed to minimize interference and ensure long-term reliability.
Thanks to its balanced sonic character, solid bass control, and the typical musicality of Diatone electronics, the DA-A600 is now considered a classic vintage amplifier, appreciated by enthusiasts for its reliability and for a clean, dynamic sound that remains highly enjoyable even in modern hi-fi systems.
