Stereo tube power amplifier designed to deliver musical reproduction characterized by linearity, control and dynamic capability. It uses a pure Class A single-ended triode configuration, with a rated output of 100 W per channel into both 4-ohm and 8-ohm loads. The design aims to combine the harmonic richness typical of tube amplification with a fast response and precise low-frequency control.

The construction reflects an artisanal approach, with particular attention to component selection and vibration reduction. The metal chassis, reinforced with an inert layer designed to absorb vibrations, contributes to the overall structural rigidity. The circuit combines circuit-board mounting with point-to-point wiring, with the components arranged to keep the signal path as short as possible. For this reason, the input connectors and speaker output terminals are positioned on the sides of the unit, close to their respective circuit sections.

The amplification stage uses 16 6550 output tubes, contributing to the amplifier's considerable size and weight. Bias current adjustment is handled by a dedicated system featuring an LCD voltmeter, a selector switch and precision multi-turn knobs, allowing accurate calibration. The rear panel houses the power inlet and main switch. The amplifier is supplied with a dedicated power cord, while the speaker terminals are designed to ensure a secure connection.

In listening tests, the JL2 MKII stands out for its ability to combine fluidity and naturalness with an energetic yet controlled response. The low frequencies retain weight and articulation without sounding sluggish or excessively emphasized, while the midrange and treble remain balanced. The soundstage offers depth and width, with good instrument separation and precise detail within a coherent overall presentation. Its handling of dynamic passages also demonstrates a responsive character that follows musical variations without compromising continuity.
