The Classé Delta Stereo is a power amplifier that encapsulates the full extent of the Canadian brand’s engineering expertise in a single, compact component with extraordinary performance.
At the core of the Delta Stereo lies an amplification stage that operates in pure Class A for the first 12.5 watts per channel, ensuring a warm, linear, and natural sound even at low volumes. Beyond this threshold, the amplifier unleashes its full potential, delivering up to 250 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with ample headroom to handle even the most dynamic musical passages effortlessly, pushing well beyond 350 watts into 2-ohm loads.
Every construction detail is designed to enhance sound clarity and transparency. The six-layer, hand-laid circuit boards minimize signal and current path lengths, ensuring impeccable noise management. Twenty-two 4-pole Mundorf capacitors provide massive energy reserves and stable response, while custom Navcom feet and rhodium-plated Furutech connectors reflect the meticulous attention given to every design element.
The Delta Stereo’s design visually expresses its capabilities. Its elegant, modern finishes and dual illuminated VU meters on the front panel add a touch of class while allowing real-time power monitoring. Although the dark grey finish may not appeal to all tastes, the amplifier’s overall appearance conveys strength, reliability, and high-end performance.
Despite its substantial size and weight—over 45 kg—its energy efficiency is remarkable compared to typical pure Class A amplifiers, which are notorious power-hungry devices. The Delta Stereo maintains excellent thermal management without compromising performance, though proper ventilation is still recommended.
Sonically, it maintains a neutral character, free from coloration, staying true to the principle that a good amplifier should add nothing to the signal. This makes it suitable for any high-end loudspeaker, offering control and dynamics with both demanding models and those with unique characteristics.
Also appreciated in professional settings—such as its use by engineers at Abbey Road Studios—the Delta Stereo is a reliable choice for those seeking a reference-grade amplifier that combines technical precision, generous power, and refined aesthetics. While positioned in the high-end price range, it offers an ideal balance of build quality, performance, and value compared to many even more expensive competitors. It’s a long-lasting amplifier, crafted with artisanal care, ready to elevate any reference audio system.
