The Advance Acoustic X-A160 is a “Made in Paris” power amplifier that combines high performance with a modern, striking design. It delivers 160 W at 8 Ohms, rising to 240 W at 4 Ohms in Class AB, offering outstanding sound quality at a remarkably accessible price. Of these 160 W, 45 W can be delivered in pure Class A by activating the “High Bias” switch on the rear panel, allowing maximum musicality and dynamic range without sacrificing efficiency. This configuration ensures faithful reproduction across the entire frequency range, with low distortion and excellent dynamics even at high volumes, without disturbing the neighbors.

The acrylic front immediately catches the eye with its clean, solid elegance, featuring two large VU meters that evoke the golden age of high-fidelity, reminiscent of legendary power amplifiers such as the Hitachi HMA or Technics SE-A7000. Power is supplied by a 700 W toroidal transformer, capable of delivering ample current to the ON Semiconductor NJW0281G and NJW0302G BJT output transistors, all “audio grade” components selected to ensure high performance and long-term reliability.

The rear panel offers unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs, selectable via a switch, along with the Bias selector and VU meter dimmer. A Trigger Input is also provided to synchronize the amplifier’s power-on with preamplifiers or other devices. Distortion is below 0.07%, the signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 120 dB, maximum power consumption reaches 500 W while standby drops below 0.5 W.
