The SoulNote A-2 integrated amplifier, available in refined Premium Silver and Premium Black finishes, represents the pinnacle of the brand’s evolution in balanced, non-negative feedback technology. In this model, every SoulNote technique is pushed to its highest potential, integrating functions like BTL mode and bi-amping, enabling flexible configurations as a stereo integrated amplifier, monaural unit, or pure power amplifier. The amplification section features fully balanced, discrete, and non-NFB circuitry in every stage—from the output to the voltage amplification stage and even in the power supply. DC servo mechanisms and current mirror circuits have been deliberately excluded to prevent any interference with sound purity. The circuit's simplicity, achieved through the use of carefully selected components such as LEDs and 2SK209 transistors, ensures a musical presentation that is wide, vivid, well-defined, and harmoniously transparent.

Volume control is not handled by conventional potentiometers or electronic chips but through a relay-controlled balanced attenuator that selects precision resistors. This design guarantees perfect channel balance, delivering exceptional clarity even at low listening levels and rendering a remarkably three-dimensional soundstage. All signal paths are optimized through internal streamlining, concentrating inputs, selectors, and the amplification stage on a single multilayer board, free from filters or shields that could compromise audio quality. Direct soldering of wires to the board, without connectors, enables a fully contactless and clean signal path.

The power supply is one of the most powerful SoulNote has ever created, featuring a 600 VA bifilar-wound toroidal transformer with independent rectification circuits placed close to the windings to minimize current loops. Multiple low-capacity capacitors are connected in parallel using custom-designed ELNA components, ensuring optimal frequency response and natural tonal reproduction. The output stage uses four high-speed, low-capacitance transistors (2SC2837/2SA1186) in parallel, precisely matched using thermal-insensitive measuring instruments. A four-stage Darlington configuration ensures a strong and controlled drive capable of handling even the most demanding speakers with both dynamism and precision.

Heat dissipation is managed by a newly developed chimney-style heat sink designed for maximum efficiency and minimal vibration. The mechanical structure is built to enhance sonic performance, using irregular-section aluminum panels and spikes directly connected to the transformer to prevent vibrations from spreading to the chassis. The top cover, made from two components joined only at three points, allows for controlled resonance without compromising musicality. The amplifier can also be used in pure power amp mode, bypassing volume and input selection to maximize signal-to-noise ratio, with selectable XLR or RCA inputs depending on the system.

Especially innovative is the implementation of BTL monaural mode, which does not follow the conventional opposite-phase configuration. Instead, it adopts a pure differential approach per channel, maintaining the balanced, non-NFB structure even in the final stage. This results in a sound that is both powerful and refined, broad and airy, free from the tonal smearing typical of traditional solutions. Altogether, the A-2 stands out as an amplifier of exceptional articulation, impact, and musicality.
