The Rega Brio MK7 is a high-performance integrated amplifier, handcrafted with meticulous attention to every detail. Thanks to innovative engineering, the Brio’s circuitry has been completely redesigned to optimize sonic performance and minimize distortion, delivering an unparalleled listening experience. Housed in a sleek, custom-designed aluminum case built to minimize footprint, the Brio MK7 delivers an impressive 50 W per channel into 8Ω and 72 W per channel into 4Ω, providing ample power to effortlessly drive even the most demanding loudspeakers with precision and control.

This latest generation of the Brio now includes a Rega-designed DAC with two digital inputs, offering greater flexibility for integrating a wide range of components. A newly developed mini system remote (also compatible with future Rega products) is included to control the unit’s standby function, allowing users to turn the amplifier on or off via remote control.

Throughout its design process, every aspect of the Brio MK7 has been carefully refined. From the quality of materials to the manufacturing process, this is the most advanced version of the Brio to date. It features Rega’s integrated DAC, new standby and auto-standby functions, and thermal protection—all part of this generation’s upgrades. Connectivity includes three line-level inputs and a dedicated moving magnet phono stage, purpose-built for vinyl playback. This phono stage benefits from improved internal stage isolation and high-spec operational amplifiers that deliver gain for connected cartridges. The Brio’s circuit has long been regarded as one of the most musically engaging in its class, and this latest iteration brings even more refinement—alongside equally outstanding performance through the headphone output.

Key improvements have been made throughout the entire circuit. The PCB layout has been fully reworked to support higher specifications across all critical components. A second power supply has been implemented to further isolate the output stage from the driver/line and phono amplifiers, enhancing the separation between high- and low-level signal stages. High-spec MUSES op-amps are used in the line, DAC, and phono stages to ensure top-tier performance.

The Brio MK7 also includes a dedicated headphone circuit designed to drive standard hi-fi headphones using the amplifier’s internal power. This circuit has been cleverly engineered to minimize its impact on the main signal path, ensuring that overall sound quality remains uncompromised. Special attention has been paid to the speaker mute switch, which cleanly disables the main outputs when headphones are connected to the front panel jack.

Auto standby functionality is built into the unit. After approximately one hour without any signal detected on the selected input, the amplifier will automatically enter standby mode. This feature can be disabled if desired.

Thermal protection ensures the amplifier is safeguarded from overheating. If the internal temperature reaches a critical point, the speaker output will be disabled, indicated by the front panel MUTE LED illuminating and the input indicator turning off. If the temperature continues to rise, the unit will shut down automatically.

Short-circuit protection is also built in. If the speaker cables are shorted, the fold-back current limiting protection circuit will prevent excessive current from reaching the output stage. This protective circuit does not sit in the audio signal path and therefore has no impact on sound quality.
