Each unit is meticulously handcrafted, starting from the thick steel chassis, finished with a five-layer coating that enhances both its build quality and visual presence. Inside, attention to detail is evident in the point-to-point hand wiring and the use of premium components such as Nichicon and DuRoch capacitors, a motorized ALPS volume control, and ultra-fast Philips rectifier diodes. The tubes, mounted on ceramic sockets, include four EL34s in the power stage and four 12AU7s in the preamp section—a time-tested combination known for its power, clarity, and tonal flexibility.

Encapsulated toroidal transformers, custom-designed for PrimaLuna, ensure a wide and controlled frequency response, with authoritative bass and crystal-clear highs. The amplifier is strictly analog, with gold-plated RCA input connectors, heavy-duty speaker terminals, and a 6.35 mm headphone output. A phono stage is also included, mounted on a shielded chassis and based on the dedicated MM PhonoLogue circuit. On the right-hand side panel, a switch allows easy selection between speaker and headphone listening modes.

At the heart of the EVO 200 is PrimaLuna’s next-generation Adaptive AutoBias circuit, which continuously monitors and adjusts tube bias in real time, drastically reducing distortion and extending component life—all without ever interfering with the signal path. This makes the amplifier exceptionally stable, high-performing, and easy to maintain. The SoftStart™ system further protects sensitive components from thermal shock at power-up.

The amplifier delivers 44 watts per channel into 8 ohms, with dedicated taps for both 4 and 8-ohm loads. A high/low bias switch allows users to optimize performance when rolling tubes, making A/B comparisons fast and effective.
