MCINTOSH MA2375

The McIntosh MA2375 is a fully valve-based, all-analog stereo integrated amplifier that combines the preamplifier and power amplifier stages in a single chassis. It delivers 75 watts per channel into 4, 8, and 16-ohm loads and uses multi-winding output transformers with McIntosh’s proprietary Unity Coupled circuit, designed to maintain the available power regardless of the impedance of the connected loudspeakers.

The preamplifier stage uses two 12AX7A and two 12AT7 tubes, while the power amplifier section employs four 12AT7 driver tubes and four KT88 power tubes. The fully analog circuitry combines the valve-based configuration with dedicated control and protection systems.

The Power Guard Screen Grid Sensor (SGS) monitors the currents present on the power tube grids in real time and dynamically compensates for any abnormal operating conditions. The fuse-less Sentry Monitor system protects the amplifier circuitry and connected loudspeakers in the event of potentially critical operating conditions.

The MA2375 incorporates a solid-state phono stage compatible with MM, high-output MC, and low-output MC cartridges, with adjustable load, capacitance, gain, and input level settings. It also features a five-band analog equalizer with adjustable frequencies at 30 Hz, 125 Hz, 500 Hz, 2 kHz, and 10 kHz, which can be individually disabled for each input.

The headphone section features a high-output headphone amplifier with Headphone Crossfeed Director (HXD) technology, which can also be disabled. The Home Theater PassThru function allows the amplifier to be integrated into home theater systems, while the mono mode can be individually selected for each input.

The connectivity includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA analog inputs, a dedicated subwoofer output, and preamplifier outputs for integration with additional system components. Control interfaces and connections are also provided, including Power Control, Data, RS232, and IR.

The front panel houses the output VU meters with switchable backlighting, the equalizer controls, and an LED matrix information display with adjustable intensity and switchable illumination. The illumination of the preamplifier tubes can also be disabled.

The chassis features a two-layer construction in mirror-polished stainless steel, with physical separation between the audio signal circuitry and the power supply section. The tubes are exposed and can be protected by removable tube cages, while the overall design incorporates the characteristic aesthetic elements of McIntosh equipment.
