The Luxman L-100 CENTENNIAL is a purely analog Class A integrated amplifier, designed to celebrate the brand’s centennial and aimed at the most discerning hi-fi enthusiasts. This unit combines a preamplifier and power amplifier in a single chassis, ensuring a classic signal path and pure Class A output capable of delivering rich, stable, and precise musical reproduction. Its architecture is based on the LIFES1 version 1.1 amplification engine, engineered to minimize distortion and optimize sound performance, while the nominal output of 20 watts per channel into 8 Ω (40 watts into 4 Ω) makes it suitable for medium-sized living rooms and listening spaces. The direct Class A configuration provides controlled dynamics and uncompromising sonic fidelity, appealing to those who value a reproduction free from digital artifacts.

The L-100 CENTENNIAL’s electronic design features triple-parallel Darlington push-pull Class A output stages, powered by a highly efficient and stable circuit with a large power transformer and eight 10,000 µF filter capacitors. The fully electronic LECUA1000 volume control offers 88 finely graduated steps for extremely precise level adjustment. The built-in phono preamplifier supports both MM and MC cartridges, ensuring faithful vinyl playback, while high-quality relays dedicated to input selection and speaker outputs enhance channel separation and driving capability.

Designed for speakers with efficient to medium power requirements, the L-100 demands a consistently high idle current typical of Class A operation, performing best in environments with stable mains power, robust RCA or XLR connections, and vibration-free, well-ventilated installation. The amplifier also includes a 4.4 mm balanced headphone jack and a 6.35 mm unbalanced jack, expanding its versatility with analog sources and vinyl systems.

The current model pays homage to the legendary 1976 L-100, adopting the same yellow illumination on the VU meters as the historic Class A models, while internally integrating the latest Luxman technologies to deliver a refined and engaging listening experience. Available with European 220 V power supply, the L-100 CENTENNIAL is positioned between the L-507Z and L-509Z in terms of price range, combining elegant aesthetics, robust construction, and high-level musical quality.
