The Anthem MRX 740 8K represents the evolution of the MRX 740 4K model, offering enhanced performance and support for the latest video technology. The receiver features seven HDMI 2.1 inputs with HDCP 2.3, capable of handling 8K/60Hz signals or 4K/120Hz pass-through, and two eARC outputs to deliver the highest quality video experience. Compared to its predecessor, the MRX 740 8K integrates a new version of the ARC Genesis room correction software, a redesigned and more accurate calibration microphone, Anthem’s Web User Interface, built-in streaming support, and object-based audio codecs supporting up to 11.2 channels, with seven amplified channels and the remaining preamplified.

The Web User Interface allows easy access to all functions and settings via smartphone, tablet, or computer, enabling users to turn the main or secondary zone on or off, adjust volume, change audio modes, or modify individual channel trims in real time. It also allows calibration of speaker delays and levels, configuration of network and control settings, renaming source devices to simplify management and remove unused inputs, and importing or exporting files for convenient remote management.

The on-screen interface has been completely redesigned for a more intuitive experience, and the amplifier channels can be reassigned according to system needs, allowing optimization of front speakers in Bi-Amplify, powered surround speakers, presence speakers, or a second zone. Combined with ARC Genesis, this enables further refinement of the entire system’s sound performance.

The MRX 740 8K provides robust integration with support for IP control and external devices, ensuring compatibility with automation systems and third-party solutions. The ARC Genesis software, compatible with both Mac and Windows, offers advanced target curve adjustments including deep bass and high frequencies, and is backward compatible with many Anthem and Paradigm products, transforming speaker performance while preserving the unique acoustic character of the room.

The receiver supports multi-platform streaming via AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast Audio, Bluetooth v4.2, Spotify Connect, and soon Roon, and features a next-generation DSP platform with over-the-air updates and web-based configuration. Its modern design includes a high-resolution front panel display, amp matrixing with up to six reassignable channels, and an independent HDMI output for Zone 2, making the MRX 740 8K the centerpiece of any high-end home theater.
