The Advance Paris PlayStream A5 is a Class AB integrated stereo amplifier. Delivering 80 watts per channel into 8 ohms and equipped with a High-Bias switch that allows operation in Class A for the first few watts, it offers refined, fluid, and musical sound reproduction, capturing every detail with naturalness and control. Internally, it features a solid and carefully designed structure that includes a full network streamer and a high-performance digital-to-analog converter based on the AKM AK4490 chip, capable of handling PCM signals up to 32-bit / 384 kHz and DSD formats up to 11.2 MHz.

Versatility is one of the PlayStream A5’s greatest strengths. With both wired and Wi-Fi network connectivity, it supports DLNA and AirPlay protocols, enabling direct access to music libraries stored on smartphones, tablets, computers, or NAS devices. Popular streaming services such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer, TuneIn, and more are integrated through the dedicated Advance Playstream app, available for both iOS and Android, delivering a modern and intuitive listening experience. It also supports audio file playback from USB drives (FAT32, up to 128 GB) via the USB Type-A port located on the rear panel.

For radio enthusiasts, the PlayStream A5 includes both an analog FM tuner and a digital DAB+ receiver, ensuring broad and high-quality reception. The built-in phono input is compatible with both MM and MC cartridges, making it a great match for vinyl lovers. Bluetooth connectivity is enabled via an external dongle, with the X-FTB01 version (aptX, AAC) included and the more advanced X-FTB02 version (aptX HD, aptX, AAC, SBC) available separately for high-quality wireless streaming.

Its extensive and well-organized connectivity includes 6 analog inputs (including one MC/MM phono), 4 digital inputs (one asynchronous USB Type-B with DSD256 support, one coaxial RCA 24/192, and three Toslink optical 24/96), two subwoofer outputs, a stereo Rec Out, and dual trigger outputs. There is also a double speaker output with A/B selection capability. The front panel offers two headphone outputs—one 6.3 mm and one 3.5 mm—ensuring full compatibility with all headphone types.

Sound control is fully customizable, with defeatable tone controls and loudness function, along with separate “Pre Out” and “Amp In” connectors, allowing the A5 to be used either as a preamplifier or power amplifier within a modular audio system.
