Dual Mono D/A Converter
The TEAC UD-501 is a high-quality Dual Mono D/A Converter designed to meet the needs of audio enthusiasts seeking advanced performance and accurate reproduction of digital audio files. This device not only supports high-resolution formats, such as DSD at 2.8/5.6 MHz and PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz, but also performs data transfer in asynchronous mode, enhancing precision and minimizing jitter. Its compatibility with native DSD files allows direct conversion of DSD signals to analog without converting to PCM, preserving the original sound quality.
The UD-501's Dual Mono design completely separates the audio circuits for the left and right channels, reducing interference between them and optimizing the performance of each channel. Each channel is equipped with a BurrBrown PCM1795 DAC, renowned for supporting audio signals up to 32-bit with an impressive signal-to-noise ratio of 123 dB, and two MUSES8920 operational amplifiers, ensuring exceptionally clear and three-dimensional sound reproduction.
A distinctive feature is the use of dedicated toroidal transformers for each channel, providing a stable and clean power supply. This configuration minimizes noise and vibrations, further enhancing audio quality. The device's compact and robust design, with a metal body that reduces internal vibrations, contributes to a more stable and precise listening experience.
The TEAC UD-501 also offers extensive versatility with customizable digital filter selections and an up-conversion function, which allows the sampling frequency of PCM files to be increased up to 192 kHz, reducing jitter and improving sound quality even with lower-resolution files. Additionally, the device supports USB input and S/PDIF connections, making it easy to connect to a wide range of external devices, including computers and media players.
